The caviar of Korean tea. A very rare spring harvest from the historic cradle of tea in South Korea.
Discover the pinnacle of Korean tea art with this prestigious Ujeon green tea set. Literally translated as Before the rain, Ujeon is a grand cru hand-picked at the very start of spring, just before the Gogu rains (mid-April). Only the very first and most tender buds are picked, making it a tea of absolute rarity.
This jewel is grown in Hadong, the wild, mountainous region where the very first tea seeds were planted in Korea over 1,200 years ago by Buddhist monks. The Haet Chawon house carries on this heritage with a perfect mastery of traditional cauldron roasting.
The Taste Experience: Ujeon offers an absolutely delicate, very pale green liquor. In the mouth it is an explosion of softness and umami, with notes of fresh hazelnut, young spring shoots, and a total absence of bitterness.
The Exceptional Case: This ceremonial tea is presented in a luxurious matte black box containing two superb golden cylindrical tins.
The Brewing Ritual: Use simmering but never boiling water (ideally between 60°C and 70°C), and steep for about 2 minutes. The leaves can be re-infused up to 4 times.
