The story of Maison Boseong does not begin in an office, but in the morning mist of the mountains of South Korea. It was born from a deep encounter between a passionate Frenchman and a land of age-old traditions.

My name is Nico Lesage, and I have lived in the heart of Seoul for more than 15 years. Over those fifteen years spent exploring every corner of the peninsula, I discovered that Korean tea is not just a drink, but a true ritual of serenity, an art of living founded on harmony between people and nature. Maison Boseong was born from this wish: to build a direct and authentic bridge between Seoul and France, offering lovers of fine teas privileged access to the most prestigious terroirs of the Land of the Morning Calm.

Field Expertise: 15 Years of Immersion in Korea

Why is Maison Boseong unique? Because we are not mere resellers. Unlike many tea houses that buy their stock through international wholesalers, I am physically on site. Living in Seoul lets me follow the rhythm of the Korean seasons, understand the climatic nuances that affect each harvest and, above all, build lasting bonds with local producers.

Every year, I leave the bustle of Seoul for the gardens of Boseong, Hadong or the volcanic island of Jejudo. I walk between the rows of tea bushes, talk with tea masters and taste the first leaves as soon as they are processed. This total immersion is the guarantee of my expertise: I select only what I consider the absolute excellence of Korea's living heritage.

The Boseong Terroir: Where the Mountains Meet the Ocean

The name of our house pays tribute to Boseong, the historic tea capital of South Korea. This exceptional terroir lies in a region where the mountains literally plunge into the sea. This unique geography creates constant humidity and thick mist, ideal conditions for tea bushes to develop intense vegetal flavours and incomparable softness.

But our quest for excellence does not stop there. We also explore the wild lands of Hadong, cradle of ancestral teas where tea bushes grow naturally at the foot of Mount Jiri, as well as the fertile volcanic soils of Jejudo. These terroirs offer organic teas of rare purity, which we are proud to offer you exclusively.
